On June 24/2025 the Eritrean Canadian community of Guelph Wellington (ECCGW) president met with Mayor Cam Guthrie. The meeting was focused on how ECCGW can get support from the city of Guelph community services regarding a place where the community can have meetings that include educational, social & cultural events activities. On top of this we discussed about how we can use city sports facilities for our youth to help them to be active in sports & city communities financial grants. The mayor gave us a valuable information & advice on how to navigate on the city services to meet our community needs.
The meeting was productive, friendly & cordial. We thank Mayor Cam Guthrie for giving us the opportunity to meet with him & discuss a range of issues that concerns our community & we look forward to have more meetings with him.
